Let’s roll!

I know there are a lot of people who can’t stand Gwyneth Paltrow but every now and then her lifestyle website, Goop, runs a really interesting article.

Last week’s edition carried an article about fascia – the connective tissue that runs through our entire bodies, encasing bones, muscles and organs. It’s definitely worth checking out the link if you want to know more about fascia and how it affects the way we move.

There’s also a great introductory foam roller sequence from trainer Lauren Roxburgh for releasing tension in the lower body.

I’m a big foam roller fan and often incorporate it into my own stretching as well as the Pilates classes I teach. It’s a relatively inexpensive piece of equipment which, if used regularly, can have a massive impact on the body.
